Watercolor pencil and regular colored pencil. This is slightly cartoonized. Playing with how to make characters consistent when they are clearly drawings and not 100% realistic. I think it looks enough like them to be recognizable. Still playing with color media and trying to find what works best for me.

I think if I used different paper, it might make a difference. Because it’s hard to get that smooth, luminescent look that sometimes I see with colored pencil. Then again, the texture is important in this medium, too.

The halaboji (grandfather) from Pinocchio versus the halmoni (grandmother) from Brilliant Legacy. Who would win in a standoff? I think the halmoni is smarter, but I think she should hide her oxtail soup money well, or that halaboji will swipe her piggy banks…halaboji-halmoni-standoffsm
